Well, I am now the proud owner of my very first snake, having spent an hour or o checking out the milks at Blue Lizard Reptiles today. They were all fab but the most placid turned out to be the one I'd originally set my heart on, a Pueblan female, so she has come to join the Katkin madhouse and so far, has had a good mooch round and is burrowed in the aspen, occasionally emerging to peer through the glass. A lot more active than I expected, having been told they are generally secretive. I'm letting her have a few days to get used to her new surroundings before I take photos or handle her, so watch this space. The cats and idiot Doberman have been warned to steer clear of the terrainium but I've got a squirty bottle at the ready in case anyone gets too curious.

So I am a happy herp!

So Ive been told! Jokingly told the other half on Friday 'well thats probably the last time we will see her til next Friday' as she slithered under the substrate, but no, tonight she's been exploring her new home (and checking for escape routes!) so maybe she's going tobuck the trend and be a visible milky!

Woo and well done.
Pueblans are amazing looking snakes. Now all you've got to do it practice taking pics of something that will never stay still when you want it to.
