Posted - 10/06/2011 : 10:40:10 Hey guys. Got a small problem.. Cleo has started biting her side. She's always been unbelievably friendly and wanting to come out of the cage. I noticed she was gently biting herself on the side and thought nothing of it till she tagged my hand. Slowly and gently (drew blood mind) I left her be for a bit but now when she comes out she is fine for a bit and then starts biting herself so I put her back.. Anyway last night she was out having a cuddle when she went mad and struck at her tail. Really aggressively. The more she bit the more angry she got and was properly fighting with herself. This was not the slow and gentle from before..
Any idea's what is going on. I've checked her for mites and found nothing. She eats a lot and regularly, may be a little fat but not too over weight. Has lots of fresh water and both a heat mat and a light bulb.
I'm really concerned that if she starts to swallow her own tail I will have a circular pet!!!
Help appreciated.

Saying that it could purely be her being a Cali King, very food orientated.
