Well today I decided to go and buy some pretty things for mims viv 
as requested by gmac heres some piccies:

Tried to get photos of it with the LED lighting on but they turned out poop  sorry!

its just in an X shape wedged in super super tightly. Cut extremely close so you have to kinda push it in hard to get it in there. |

How did you get the bamboo to stay in place? Is it just wedged in there or is it stuck somehow? |
