Gomez, my newly acquired Mexican Black I picked him up this afternoon. He's in blue at the moment but still very active.

Told you Mexi blacks make your heart beat faster

Congrats on the successful feed - you'll get used to the strike

Well I offered him a pinky and he took it no problem.

I've only had a Mexi Black for 5 days and already I see such a difference between him and my Milk snake.
Gomez is a lot more active during the day, and a very aggressive feeder. That's my first experience with a successful tease feeding. When he went for it I almost needed clean pants!

I'm learning fast. He's so bloody quick.
Should I try him with a feed tonight, or give him a day to settle down after the shed?

Woohoo I got home from work to find that Gomez had a perfect shed this morning :)

So after cleaning up after him I had my first handle off him. He was a little flighty at first, but soon calmed down (def not as much as my milk though). He did bite me as I was putting him into the viv though. It didn't hurt at all, but it did take him 30 odd seconds to let go.

I'll give him a day to settle down, then try him with a feed tomorrow night.

Nice snake, Wendy prefers I avoid darker colours as she got badly bitten by an adult "annie" phase corn snake she was given - we think it may have been part rat, it was the most evil one we'd ever had. I had to peel it off her with motorcycle gauntlets or it would have badly bitten me as well. Afterwards we took it to a local exotics shop who agreed to give it a go.
Hence all the albinos lol

Sorry for the double posting of some of the pics. For some reason I can't edit the original post.
