It looks a lot like my Desert king. They tend to range from black to chocolatey brown, and depending on the light, the markings range from sand coloured to yellow.

It gets confusing as there are the pure ones (desert is the pure one I *think*) and the botched ones are hybrids/intergrades from what I know MBK x Deserts

It gets so confusing, specially when the levels of black and white can vary.

I agree with Dracyia and Crimson King, this snake is certainly Lampropeltis getula splendida, Desert Kingsnake. I love these snakes, nice purchase.

Definately a desert kingsnake. 100% certain.

Yes, I've handled a Desert King at Shropshire Exotics and this is almost identical. Just don't be nervous, as long as you're confident handling and don't jerk your hand away should be fine

Hi Liam - I saw your post on the corn snake, yes some serious mislabelling going on there. Great looking King though, Kings are more fun to keep I think, but I bias as we have the feisty Nagini to keep us entertained.

Looks a little like an Eastern King Snake - any other opinions anyone?

Definitely not a corn- which shop said it was? That's some serious mis-labeling

...but if you got it at a corn snake price then you've also got a serious bargain too
