My mbk is on day 7 after her prelay shed and has been a poo a few times today but there's no poo in it just a thick yellow/white goo.Could this be underdeveloped eggs, like a miscarriage, has anyone heard of this?

ah right if she's in and out at the moment then wait till she stays in for a while
lee2308 Posted - 02/04/2010 : 16:20:31
been checking every time sheleaves it,but will just leave it longer now.
Gingerpony Posted - 02/04/2010 : 16:01:37
potentially she'll lay then be too knackered to do anything, she'll just want to rest. i'd check her every 24-48hrs depending on the laying box ie. if it's warm and damp (good conditions for incubation) i'd be more inclined to check every 48hrs, if i thought the temps were unsuitable or unstable or that the laying box might dry out then i'd check more frequently

For got to say i got a webcam set up http://leeb2308.camstreams.com/ ,saves me keep going upstairs, should i wait until she leaves the nest to check?

can feel individual eggs now rather than half her body being solid, think today could be the day.Have not seen her all morning and is in the nest box rather than roaming all over

Doesn't sound good Lee. Has she lost weight? And can you physicly see her bulge decreased? It's quite uncommon to see this, but could well be a 'miscarriage'.

I would have thought you get eggs which dont develop
Gingerpony Posted - 31/03/2010 : 19:59:50
i've seen something similar when a snake has had an upset tummy which resolved itself with a little time, not sure what else it could be as i don't think egg-layers can miscarry as such...

Don't know the answer Lee but I hope everything is well
