Hello chaps and chapettes, Kelfezond here!

I'm one of the moderators over on The Royal Python forum. I'm currently constructing my reptile room to help with the expanding number of Roayls we have, we're going to have about 20 x 50litre RUB's in our new Rub Rack as well as dozens of smaller ones.

I've thought for a while that I need to get some experience with colubrids so I popped out to my local reptile store and handled a few different things, some corns, king snakes, milksnakes and such and decided that King's are freaking epic! (despite being pooped on)

So was wondering how well they handle life in a RUB opposed to a vivarium and if a 50litre was big enough for one. Opinions?

Currently I have 10 royal pythons, 2 boa constrictors and a rough scaled sand boa :)

I use 70 litres for my adults but sure a 50 would be fine too.

What kings you going for? This might give you some ideas:-

kings dont generally get bigger than corns so no reason 50l rub wont do ;)

Honestly not sure yet, pretty sure I want to get a breeding pair so I'm open to suggestions :)

Hi Kelfezond, glad to hear you have seen the light and getting a King.

I suppose the usual rule of snake length <= viv length plus width still applies to a RUB. Should be OK with the usual hides etc.

Which flavour of King are you going for?
