Hi I have had my Pueblan milk for about 3 months now. I try to handle as much as possiable for a few minutes at a time. He really hasn't calmed at all. I keep corns and royals also and they have calmed in no time at all.

As soon as he seems to be getting better he musks crazy. any advice on handling times or other techniques to calm him down would be much appreciated.

I have already tried leaving a sock in with him to get him use to my scent but it did nothing.

Thanks

Stu

Hi Stuart, just keep persevering. I have 6 kings now and until recently two of them would musk every time I picked them up. He will calm down soon enough

1.1.0 Arizona mountain king (Sylar and Claire)
0.1.0 Blotched king ( Jasmin)
1.1.0 Guyana red-tail boa (Hercules and Athena)
1.0.1 children (Alfie and BUMP)

Was it a smelly sock? Needs to have your scent on it for it to work.

Preseverance is the best way forwarded. They are skitty when young but it won't always be so.

Are pueblans more likely tokeep musking than any other milk? Seems like it from the many websites I've been checking out and are we talking projectile squirting or dripping out of the vent? (if I'm going to get the darned stuff on e I'd like a vague idea what to expect)

I'm hoping to pick up my first snake this weekend and I'm drawn to the Pueblan or apricot Pueblan but would consider a Nelson's or a Stuarts. Hondurans seem to e well liked are often described as 'docile', but are one of the bigger milks... blue lizard has all 4 in stock so I'll be having a chat to find out about them all...

1 Pueblan Milk Snake; 1 African Mantis; several of it's locust lunch mates; various Stick Insects); 1 Doberman; several cats; and 5 fish

not sure if ones worse than the other but my mbk used to dribble it out and then spin his tail like a helicopter to make sure he got good coverage.
