Right, as most of you know im quite new to keeping Kings and Milks, after havin bin a Royal and cornie girl for years! What i have noticed last year is the general pattern that alot of them have towards going off feed!
As it gets to the fall..arond about now actually, both my Red Milks and my Greybanded kings and the knoblochi get increasingly fussy, till they practically stop feeding all on their own!
Now...This happens even if i dont cool them down...which last year i didnt as they were too young. I do think that they must have a natural brumation period, and that they can tell by hours of light and temperature changes..even in an artificial environment!
Anybody elses Lampros do this??? |

Yeah my MBK stops feeding in the winter, I think its their body clock slowing down and not so much a brumation, I could be wrong though lol |

Think your right...My two reds have gone off feed again all on their own!...So!...Do you leave the heat as is and just keep giving water and offering food until they finally take again??? |

Yep, Sylar fed sporadically this time last year and he's doing the same again now. Claire is still eating at the moment though. My other 4 kings are still eating plenty |

My king has also done this for the last couple of winters. I'm just letter her get on with it. If she refuses food that's fine, if she takes it that's great. The way I see it is either way, if she's offered everything she needs and takes or refuses it, I'm sure she knows what she's doing. As long as she doesn't drop a significant amount of weight then I'm happy to leave her to it :) |
