purely because they are kings and they can, also nature has no rules for these guys.
Is a roundabout way of saying I have no clue its just the way they are.
Is also not strictly true most captive kings are generally cracking snakes to have but you just hear more about the horror stories.

I agree with G. I had a king that was crazy. But then I have my MBK who has never struck or bitten me. She doesnt musk or tail shake. Shes a poor excuse of a king in that respect |

Mine doesn't bite me, only bitten once but that's because I didn't wait a while after he had fed to move him back in the viv XD but he never bites or musks just for the bell of it, he likes his chin, head and belly being tickled :3
Could be cause they are stupid? Plus it's their way of defending themselves or getting a meal. |

A very special super, duper thanks for K :3 |

Mines not bit me yet, although he did everything else to begin with. After the state he got himself into at feeding time the other week I can only come to the same conclusion as Sta-ple....they are a few sandwiches short of a picnic! |

Yes they are thick lol, you will come to learn this specially when they decide after eating mouse to then spell where they hugged the mouse and then bite themselves in that area and then look surprised when they bite themselves! |

Hi Tom, so what snakes do you have on top of your list of T's lol?
I put their tendency to bite down to being opportunistic feeders. My king used to bite anything that moved when she was young. This is probably why she grew like a weed. They also seem to be very food oriented. My girl even had a go at my royal. She's just nuts! |
