Hi, I'm new on here and I have my eye on a Cali King Snake which I am planning to get in the next few weeks. He is over a year old and 18" long. I am planning to start him off in a 2 foot wooden viv but I would like some advice about heating. At present he has a reflector bulb for heat which is turned off at night. I am worried that I would not be able to get an adequate heat variant in a small viv. I am leaning towards a heat mat and stat which can be left on 24 hours but I would like to know what you experienced people recommend. Thanks

hi and welcome Zippy10.

Heatmats are fine in vivs, mine all have them. So if you get a mat and a stat, matstats are fine but pulse stats are best option for mats, all will be good.

9.6 Corns, 1.0 Bci, 2.1 Royals, 1.1 king snakes, 0.0.1 milksnake, 1.1 black rat snakes, 1.2 Beardies, 1.0 shovelface
